Mysterious Spheres for April 2010 - Mighty Mars

By Michelle Cook

Mars is the planet of desire and will, and it is the planet most often associated with the astrological sign of Aries. Stubborn, hard headed and passionate. To make matters just a little bit more complicated, Mars is also considerately and with purpose named after the God of War.

With those, the most dynamic attributes of the human condition, wars have been fought and won, loves have been sought and won, and many times, the two, love and war, have managed to go hand in hand with Mars the victorious conquering hero seducing the, albeit reluctant, but willing conquered maiden. We have seen this story repeat a hundred, nay a thousand times, in historical records and it is an avid favorite among the romance novelists of the last thousand years.

This is the purview of Mighty Mars and if Mars is in the house, you have not only the desire and the will, but the fortitude and the follow through to get, what may seem like hopeless, tasks completed. Because Mars powers you toward your goals, it, also, represents your most fundamental passions in this life and how you go about obtaining them.

Mars was retrograde until March 10th of this last month, so many of us feel like we have been at a standstill, as far as, truly productive work goes. This article, for example, would not be written until Mars had moved more out of its retrograde pattern, and through the two week twitchy period, which is the absolute quintessential personality of Mars. “I am not going to do it, until I am ready to do it, but when I do, I will get it done quickly and with fervor.”

The house placement of Mars indicates the area of your life where you tend to be most active. The sign placement shows the fundamental nature of your assertions. Mighty Mars demonstrates how you initiate activities, express aggression and push in new directions. This is the planet of anger and impulse, and correctly channeled can help you do amazing things with excess energy and the ways you apply your intention to overcome obstacles.

Check it out. I think you might be surprised about this planet’s placement in your own chart. I don’t think any of our readers will be surprised to know that Mars has been in my 5th house of creativity. Yes sir! No wonder I haven’t been able to write this with Mars Retrograde. Once it is direct again, though, full speed ahead. Just watch out for that Ram, you may butt heads, but he has only the best of intentions!
