Moon Whispers for June

As luck would have it, Ishtar has shown up for me in a big way and I believe I am supposed to share it with you here.

Ishtar represents the fullness of womanhood and dares us to dream. She is the Goddess of Love ~ The Lady of Heaven – Goddess of the Moon ~ Her power is strongest at the full moon, when the essence of womanhood heightens in response to the moon energy that is all encompassing.

Ishtar, the Goddess in her full glory, is the goddess of sexual love ~ but not marriage – the goddess of the negative bhakti – Her energy is associated with sacred courtesans, or those who took the sins of the sons of war before they were released back into their families' arms after war.

Ishtar's energy represents passionate love and sexuality. Babylonians have honored Ishtar as a goddess who inspires lovers everywhere to stop for a moment and connect with the fertile energy she brings.

She shares a direct connection with Venus and is represented by the caduceus, seen as the double snakes on the sword, and the dragon.  She is fiercely loving.

My Morning Experience with Ishtar goes something like this:

This morning I awoke with the word and sight of green everywhere ~ Verdi gris everywhere ~ even down to my toes and nails painted a brilliant emerald green and green feathers in my hair ~ I was wrapped in vines from the roots of the tree of life but in my own bedroom. This was a lucid dream for it was in fact morning about nine am and I had awakened - so I was in a trance state ~

A shaman is standing over me with his staff raised above me ~ there were a couple of sand snakes on the floor of my aqua green carpet ~ I was not afraid ~ but I was young and vibrant and once more very exotic looking as I was in my youth ~ I levitated up from the bed and rolled over onto my stomach and the shaman touched my right shoulder blade ~ with his hand he removed a thumbtack sized magnet ~ as he pulled it out of my shoulder blade it grew to look like a glass breast~ something like the top of a champagne glass and it was filled with clear beads. They were enclosed.

I rolled back around and looked out of my eastern facing bedroom window at the rising sun. As I sat up the vines fell from around me and I stepped out of them and left that part of myself behind - giving me the feeling of something like the story of Venus rising from the sea, or in this case, perhaps Ishtar coming back from Hades.

I looked up into my backyard, naked and beautiful, and see the ghosts of all I have known. I realized that the beads are one of each of these persons and their stories, which I have listened to and held onto. I see with this visitation ~ for that is what it was ~ I was to learn how easily we are impacted by what we hear - so listen carefully - speak honestly and compassionately - and obviously it doesn’t matter if you hear it with your ears, because your body will find the source one way or another and hold onto it.  Whether in the bedroom or the boardroom, this goddess takes all to heart.

DO THIS

Bring Ishtar's loving warmth to your heart and home on the night of the full moon in June.  Wear clothes or jewelry that contain Ishtar's symbolism - stars, the moon, the lion or the dove.  Play a drum with your hands, holding it between your legs.  Listen to your heartbeat and send it through your shoulders, arms and hands to the drum, and feel the infinite power of connection to the earth as the vibrations travel back through your body to your core.  Energy flows, love grows.
